Electrical Engineer (Space Systems)
About the Role
Monarch Space Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer with direct experience supporting high-reliability aerospace systems or government programs. This role contributes to mission-critical spacecraft electrical design, avionics integration, and power systems engineering. Ideal candidates will have prior experience with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center or similar institutions supporting space systems development.
Responsibilities
- Design and test spacecraft electrical systems and avionics for aerospace and defense programs
- Support power systems architecture, signal integrity analysis, and system integration activities
- Develop schematics, PCB layouts, and harness designs for mission-critical space systems
- Contribute to NASA and DoD proposals and technical documentation in coordination with capture teams
- Participate in design reviews, validation campaigns, and verification testing for aerospace systems
- Coordinate with propulsion and systems engineering teams on integrated spacecraft architectures
Ideal Candidate Profile
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in aerospace, defense, or government contractor environments
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Familiarity with spacecraft power systems, signal processing, or avionics design
- Experience with schematic capture, PCB design tools, and harness design documentation

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center or equivalent government research center
- Familiarity with spacecraft avionics and payload electrical systems integration
- Knowledge of NASA-STD and MIL-STD frameworks for electrical design and testing
- Experience supporting aerospace proposals or technical volume development
